Despite casualty figures being below the national average, Norfolk strives towards reducing these figures even further with SAM being just one of many initiatives being undertaken in the County. With speeding issues in the top three complaints received by Norfolk County Council and Norfolk Constabulary, the purpose of SAM is to reward positive behaviour, create awareness to appropriate speeds and to explain the dangers of speed particularly to vulnerable road users. SAM is an educational tool utilised in partnership with local parishes and towns.
